DOVENET-FON Fistula Intvention in Oron-Amagu (ikwo) and Igweledoha (Ohaukwu) communities
DOVENET has been pragmatic when it comes to the issue of fistula at the grassroots level and with the support from the Friends of Nigeria (FON) fistula initiative project, DOVENET has carried the message of fistula to Oron-Amagu community in Ikwo LGA and Igweledoha community in Ohaukwu LGA of Ebonyi state in March.
Through her community structures, DOVENET conducted the following activities in response to the set objectives and goal; town-hall meetings, community dialogues, church outreaches, home visits, and review meetings.
The set goals and objectives were met as the awareness of fistula, prevention, and treatment messages reached out to the targeted persons (pregnant women, mothers, youths, and other stakeholders). Also, DOVENET created the awareness of the availability of health facilities
Participants in these activities include DOVENET staff, traditional leaders, community chiefs, youth leaders, women leaders, health committees, and community members.
