The MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership (MCGL) organized a 3-day survivor Advocacy Training between 8th-10th February 2023 for community leaders to equip them with specific attributes required for being advocates for survivors of gender-based violence in the community, build the capacity of advocates on interpersonal communication skills, trained advocates on how to facilitate, develop safety plans and link survivors to available GBV services Within community.
The advocates were taught effective ways of communicating with survivors, ethics, confidentiality, empathetic listening, and active communication.
The training encompassed role-play sessions, Question and Answer sessions and DOVENET actively participated in all the sessions.
The training came to an end with participants fully equipped to act as advocates for survivors of to survivors of gender-based violence.
