Ebonyi State Team led by Daughters of Virtue and Empowerment Initiative (DOVENET) carried out an advocacy/sensitization on climate change, the consequences and prevention strategies at Abakaliki High School (Presco) on 13th October 2021.
The event which took place in the school premises began with an Advocacy visit to the principal of the school Elder Mrs. Nnenna Obasi who welcomed the team and appreciated them for the visit.

Shortly after the advocacy, the team proceeded to the student’s session where students were lectured on the overview of climate change, the consequences of climate change and possible strategies and prevention tips. The students were advised to always plant trees and stop burning of waste materials and fuels which produces greenhouse gases. They were further advised that these greenhouse gases are what contributes to climate change and its effect greatly affects the surrounding.
Immediately after the session, the team together with a good number of students went round the school compound planting trees and equally encouraged students to always do same in their environments.
The celebration ended with a group photograph with the Ebonyi team, teachers and the students.
