On Friday 21st February 2020, the Executive Director of DOVENET and some staff of DOVENET paid a courtesy visit to the Medical Director of the National Obstetric Fistula Center (NOFIC) Abakaliki, Prof. Johnson Obuna who received DOVENET with his top management staff.

The Executive Director of DOVENET, Mrs Ugo Nnachi, congratulated him on his appointment and appealed for stronger collaboration between the hospital and DOVENET noting that DOVENET has been one of the organizations consistent in bringing fistula clients to the hospital from within and outside the state. She also noted that with the support from Friends of Nigeria (FON) DOVENET has been able to reach the integral parts of the state to identify clients but hoped that other agencies can support DOVENET for a wider reach.

The Medical Director of NOFIC expressed his delight with DOVENET in the great efforts to identify and refer clients from the rural areas to the hospital for repairs. He maintained that the efforts and actions have sustained the work at the fistula center. He assured the organization of a greater collaboration between the NOFIC and DOVENET in the area of prevention, research, training & rehabilitation, and community mobilization. The Medical Director permitted DOVENET to use NOFIC as partners in their fund raising drive to identify fistula clients in the South-East and South-South region of Nigeria.
