BHCPF/SHIS AWARENESS CREATION IN OHOFIA WARD OF ISHELU LGA, EBONYI STATE

Aug 6, 2019

With fifteen weeks out of the first phase of HP+ support, #dovenet has obtained supports from HP+ to launch the second phase with the sole goal of creating awareness to the targeted population with the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund(BHCPF) and State Health Insurance Scheme(SHIS) package Messages. The initialization of this phase was marked by the conduction of a town hall meeting in Ohofia HC, Ohofia ward, Ishielu Local Government Area(LGA). This meeting recorded a total of 1,260 (Male – 797, Female-463) participants drawn from 26 villages’, that make up the ward. It was graced with the presence of officials ranging from Ebonyi State Ministry of Health to Environmental Health Officers. The success of this event can be measured from the presence of targeted stakeholders of the program and the wholesome figure representing the villages in the local government. Adequate reports from persons available at the program will include activities such as prayers, information sharing on BHCPF, SHIS, BMPHS, basic roles of WDCs, and other aspects. The program saw inquiries into the basic health needs of the region. Responses included those such as free malaria treatment especially for children of under 5years and pregnant women, security-related needs, staff availability ensuring quick responses to emergencies, provision of potable water and others. The event was considered highly successful as viewed in the ability to establish a fluent mode of communication between the organizers and the inhabitants of the region. This was followed by the creation of bonding experiences through dances, etc. The concluding session of the program covered the clarification of issues, questions, and concerns on behalf of the community. #BHCPF #EbonyiStateMinistryOfHealth #AbakalikiNGO #dovenetnigeria #healthiswealth #dovenetng #encouragehealthyliving
